Yes.. I Quit My Job! And I took a leap of faith in myself.
Let me tell you about last Valentine’s Day, I shared my story about how my journey started in the Netherlands 17 years ago. It wasn’t just because it was Valentine’s Day, but also because I was on the verge of taking another big dive. To be honest, it felt scary, and I had a lot of “What ifs.”
I decided to quit my job and pursue another dream. No, I’m not moving away—though I did spend two months in Spain with my family. This time was meant for rest and quality family moments, but it also helped me detach, step out of my comfort zone, and make a fresh start.
Yes, I quit my job, and that was a hard decision on so many levels. I won’t go into all the back-and-forths, but I will say it was tough I had been working for 8 years with the most awesome team I’ve worked with in my working life. And I have had some pretty cool jobs with great people, yet the team I was part of at Seats2meet Eindhoven Strijp-S is something unique We’ve organized wonderful events, seminars, company parties, dinners, Scrum sessions for healthcare organisations, to high tech companies to educational institutions to small businesses. Businesses which flourished as the time went by to impressive companies.
We even had robots running up and down the aisles to welcome guests. We survived the pandemic and came out strong, continuing to offer high-class service to our guests.
Yes! I’m proud of this organisation and my time working for Seats2meet Strijp-S. And I’m grateful for everything I learned and the friendships I built during those wonderful 8 years. Thank you, Seats2meet, for the work fun, lessons learned, friendship, and personal growth!
You may still find me there using their co-working facilities and having coffee with my old colleagues—friends.
What is my next step? And what dream am I pursuing now? You may have already seen what I’m up to. Rather than a dream, it feels like a calling—my purpose.
I coach people, specifically expats, who may be going through a career change or want to make a career change, people who just moved (back) to the Netherlands or abroad and are dealing with the challenges of starting over, or those who are trying to find themselves in a foreign country. This can be a challenging and lonely process, but it doesn’t have to be that way.
If you or someone you know is struggling with these challenges, I would love to help. Please reach out or recommend my services to anyone who might benefit from them. Let’s make this journey together.
