I’m heartbroken. 💔Last night, I learned that one of my greatest sources of inspiration, a mentor, has passed away. This extraordinary man overcame addiction, life-and-death experiences, and health challenges through emotional healing, transforming ADHD into his superpower and accomplishing so much more. I feel I’ve lost one of my favorite teachers in life, Kerwin Rae.The world, those who knew him, and everyone who followed his journey have lost a profound spurce of wisdom about life, its struggles, and the raw beauty of parenting. He was truly a beacon of LOVE.You left this world far too soon. We need more of your kind of Love to make this confused world a kinder one. Thank you, Kerwin, for sharing your wisdom, knowledge, refreshing wit, and vulnerability with us all.My deepest condolences to his family, friends, team, and everyone who feels this loss.

As a third culture kid, the goodbyes were tough, but the hellos are forever!When I tell people I’ve lived in 12 cities and moved more than 15 times, their reaction is usually a sigh and a comforting gesture. “That must have been tough!” Sure, saying goodbye to friends was hard, but for me, it was never just about the goodbyes. It was also about the excitement of new beginnings and the lifelong connections that came with it.The major bonus of this life? Meeting friends from all over the world and reconnecting like no time has passed. Whether it’s sharing the same quirks or laughing over old inside jokes, it’s a bond that transcends borders and time zones.Last Saturday, I met with two incredible ladies I went to high school with, both of whom experienced the same ups and downs as me. Growing up between cultures creates a unique sense of belonging a culture that isn’t tied to one place but shared among those of us who lived away from ‘home.’ My Dutch partner might not fully get it, and that’s okay. These connections are something beautifully in-between and keep this part of my identity alive.Cheers to lifelong friendships and the joy of reuniting with people who get it.Tag a friend who’s been through it all with you, no matter the distance! The future of Eindhoven is in the hands of young adults.Our fourth session of the StadsMakers program just wrapped up this week, and I’m beyond excited about what we’re building together! As a coach, I’ve always been passionate about working with young people because they are the key to the future we’re shaping. The earlier we invest in self-leadership and leadership skills, the better equipped our youth will be to create an even greater future for themselves and for Eindhoven.I’m proud to be part of this program, not only because I believe in empowering youth but also because I want to contribute to a stronger, more united city. Eindhoven’s diversity is our strength, and through StadsMakers, we’re tapping into that potential to build a thriving community for everyone.Together, we’re making existing initiatives more visible and more impactful, giving young people the tools and the space to turn their ideas into reality.
